The PAR design, fabrication, transport and installation will be integrated into the existing Gorgon Jetty project design and construction process.
Design of the PARs has already started and fabrication is likely to start in late 2010, with installation works to be complete by late 2013.
The original scope of work consists of the design, material supply, fabrication, construction and commissioning of the LNG Jetty.
Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2011 on Barrow Island, 70km off the Pilbara coast of Western Australia.
Meanwhile, J Ray McDermott has been awarded a contract by the Kellogg joint venture – the engineering, procurement and construction management contractor for the downstream and logistics areas of the Gorgon project – for the fabrication of more than 60 pre-assembled racks and units with an estimated combined weight of about 25,000 tonnes.
J Ray will carry out project management; fabrication engineering; procurement and material management; construction; commissioning assistance; quarantine compliance; load-out and sea-fastening at the company’s facility in Indonesia.
The contract is worth about $US150 million ($A169.5 million) and work is expected to start in the fourth quarter with project completion after two years. News Courtesy "Construction Industry News" |
