This design is perfect for the smaller jobs. With the ability to back hammer, a separate extractor is not necessarily required to remove rods from the ground.

Dynamic Cone Penetrometers (DCPs) are used for the determination of resistance of soils to the penetration of a steel cone of 30 degrees angle driven with a 9 kg mass dropping 510mm.

This is Geo-Con Products’ budget DCP, it doesn’t have the unique features of Geo-Con’s (nearly indestructible) Standard Version DCP.

The simplified hammer, the single setting of the top nut together with the basic anvil have enabled Geo-Con to substantially reduce this DCP’s manufacturing costs.
